Arsenal have a lot of business to do and they’re doing none of it. So, if we’re supposed to be being patient right now, we’re all kind of screwed.

Arsenal‘s transfer business is a long time coming. You may have noticed from my article yesterday, artfully titled, “When are we actually going to f***ing do something?” that I’m not doing the best in the patience category either.

There is just so much to accomplish this summer that you’d think that getting started early would be the best way to ensure that everything that needs to get done, will get done. I don’t want to go through the expanding list of what needs to be done, suffice to say it is long.

But there is a value to patience that perhaps is being overlooked here. I’m guilty of it too. And it came to fruition when it was brought to my attention that, when we signed on with Puma on July 1st, all of the transfer business that summer was done after July 1st.

We are signing on with Adidas starting July 1st, so the easiest answer to all of this is that we aren’t going to do anything until that comes to pass.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That said, we could still be selling players, which is apparently proving to be hard. I’m not surprised. These guys we are supposed to be offloading are going to be hard to offload because their value has seriously deteriorated during their time at the Emirates.

But back to why patience can prove useful – it’s not like the Gunners aren’t making bids. With a limited budget, I understand why they aren’t able to just pay what other teams are asking for, and why they’d try to sneak a few low-budget transfers in under the radar. It’s looking like they are getting their ducks in a row for after July 1st, when the Adidas partnership goes into effect.

It’s just so hard to be patient when we want solutions and we want them now. And it’s not made any easier when all of these bids are being bantered about without a single one being announced. It’s the perfect storm of insanity, and I don’t blame anyone for going a bit nuts in waiting for the something to be done because obviously I’m doing the same.

At the end of the day though, we do need to be patient. We need to let these things fall into place. It’s not like we’re going to sign no one this summer.
