Arsenal have stumbled into roadblocks with each winger they’ve pursued this transfer window. Whether it be Yannick Carrasco, Ryan Fraser, Wilfried Zaha, or all the other ones I just don’t want to list here, they can’t get a deal done. And now we’re on to another—Ivan Perisic.

The Croatian winger has been linked to the Gunners before, but a move never came through. Recently, back in January, he demanded a move from Inter and found himself ousted from the club for his efforts, and now he is just sitting in the airport, waiting for a destination.

I’m getting the impression that Perisic isn’t the kind of guy that some people are wanting to see as the “solution” to our wide attacking woes, and that’s why I’m here. I want you all to understand why you actually do want Ivan Perisic, even if you haven’t accepted it yet.

Because, simply put, there’s literally no reason not to want Perisic on your team. So let’s talk five reasons, in particular, why you actually do want Perisic.

We start with No. 5.

5. Inter drama is inconsequential

It’s always a bit dicey to go after a guy who didn’t leave his previous outfit amicably, because you start to worry if you might go through the same thing with this guy. After all, he’s done it once, why wouldn’t he do it again?

I’m going to use the same logic here as I did with Yannick Carrasco. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang went through the same rough exit at Dortmund before coming to the Emirates, and by now, I think most of us have probably forgotten about all the nasty reports about Aubameyang’s behavior because he clearly left that behind him.

Carrasco would do the same, and so will Ivan Perisic. There’s no reason for these players to carry that baggage with them. They want a fresh start and we are here to give it to them.

Moving on to No. 4.
