Arsenal fans have been waiting eagerly for July, when the Adidas deal kicks in and gives us the freedom to actually make signings. So here’s what to expect.

Arsenal haven’t made a single significant move yet this summer; no sales or purchases. Rivals have been buying and selling and non-rivals like Brighton, Borussia Monchengladbach and Sevilla have been been snatching up economically friendly solutions that the Gunners should have been more interested in.

This has all been in the name of the Adidas partnership, which is set to kick in July 1st, at which point it’s assumed that this club will actually get off their arses and do something, making the necessary purchases as well as securing the necessary sales (don’t know why that hasn’t started yet).

So let’s talk about what to expect, starting tomorrow.

First of all, don’t expect something to happen at 12:00AM, July 1st. Nothing is ever that easy, especially with this club.

But in that first week, you should 100% expect to see the Gunners announce a signing or two. Kieran Tierney looks like a very serious option, who makes a ton of sense, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him be the signing that breaks the seal.

After that, things may get muddled, but William Saliba continues to hit the headlines, though I’m not one to get that excited about a player we can’t even have right now.

Still, this is another front runner to be one of the earlier announcements, as the rumors have indicated that the back-and-forth has been fruitful and productive and the Gunners are keen on the deal, even if that means loaning him back.

Of course, this doesn’t account for wingers, and I think that the winger situation will draw out longer than we’d like. Crystal Palace have supposedly set a £100m price tag on Wilfried Zaha to drive off the competition, which makes cheaper and more sensible options like Hakim Ziyech and Yannick Carrasco stand out as go-to signings that wouldn’t require a massive sale of our own in order to afford.

Look for the defense to get shored up first though, which is the best possible plan. Hopefully we can see some key sales in there and, if the attack clears out the likes of Ozil and Mkhitaryan, then as the summer draws on, we may see some attacking reinforcements make their way into the fold.
