Arsenal: I’ll throw up if we bid it all on Wilfried Zaha

Arsenal have seen a lot of transfer rumors pass them by, but if they truly intend to let it all hang on Wilfried Zaha, then I’m going to upchuck everywhere.

Arsenal’s transfer window has already been populated by a lot of nonsense, but if you haven’t been following my narrative thus far, let me give you a quick summary: I hate this ridiculous obsession with Wilfried Zaha. Not because he isn’t a good player, but because even he knows he isn’t worth £100m. Or £80m. Or hell, even £60m.

But here we stay in the game, trying to win him above anything else. Trying to spend this entire summer convincing Crystal Palace that they actually do want to sell him like this is some stupid Jedi mind trick.

Now there are rumors that the club actually does have more money to spend on Zaha, such that they could actually land him, and I’m still sitting here, shaking my head, wondering why we want him so badly in the first place.

Joachim Anderson, Alexis Claude-Maurice, Ismael Bennacer, Ryan Fraser, Yannick Carrasco, Hakim Ziyech, Leandro Trossard, Pablo Fornals, Samuel Umtiti, Nabile Fekir. And that’s just off the top of my head. And guess who would cost less than Wilfried Zaha?

Joachim Anderson, Alexis Claude-Maurice, Ismael Bennacer, Ryan Fraser, Yannick Carrasco, Hakim Ziyech, Leandro Trossard, Pablo Fornals, Samuel Umtiti, Nabil Fekir. And that’s just off the top of my head. In fact, go ahead and pick any two guys and they would still cost less. You could even pick and choose three, four of those guys and still end up paying less than we will have to pay to get one man in Zaha.

But here we remain, irreparably obsessed with one man who, spoiler alert, is not the only missing piece separating us from competing at the top level again. No, we need much more than that. And if you were to ask me who we would get more out of for the price being paid, you know who I would suggest?

I can’t believe this obsession, I really can’t. And that so many fans are selling out on it too. Are we really happy to see our club go all in on Wilfried Zaha instead of the countless other solutions we could be investing in?
