Arsenal: Moise Kean means unnecessarily bad news for someone
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are suddenly surprise suitors for Juventus youngster Moise Kean. But to land him would spell bad news for any number of our guys.
The last thing that should be on Arsenal’s mind right now is another striker. Notoriously the most expensive players in the footballing world, they would have to overspend to underachieve. Not just that, but they would be knocking someone off their perch. So the sudden arrival of the Moise Kean has me wondering who that someone is.
There has been far too much talk about selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Kean could be the guy to step into that role. But at just 19 years old and having less than 2000 professional minutes under his belt, that’s one hell of a leap.
Then again, Unai Emery is not one for playing things safe. He likes trying new things, and if he thinks Kean has what it takes to be something special, like winning the Golden Boot and giving us something to believe in all year long (I joke, of course), then sure, Moise Kean looks great.
If it’s not Aubameyang that gets knocked off his perch from Kean’s arrival, it will be one of our three young striker stalwarts.

Obviously Eddie Nketiah is the next in line, and he’s been tearing up the preseason, not just with goals, but with fantastic overall play. Emery has even challenged him to fight for a first-team place, and Nketiah doesn’t seem like the kind of player who is going to let a challenge like that pass him by.
Then there is Tyreece John-Jules, the young England phenom and Folarin Balogun, who’s taken over Nketiah’s mantle of scoring stupid amounts of goals in the youth set-up.
Supposedly Moise Kean would slip right in there somewhere. But without corresponding movement, how many cooks are too many for this kitchen?
Far be it for me to not want a talented player just because he gets in the way of our in-house talented players, but my beef with that is we haven’t even given our in-house guys much of a chance. Yet every small opportunity they have had, they make themselves look like something just as special as… Moise Kean.
It’s a confusing one. Especially as he wouldn’t come cheap. Which makes me think that if we were to secure his services, it would most likely be in anticipation for an Aubameyang exit. And, well, needless to say I don’t like that.
