Arsenal: Kieran Tierney injury could work in our favor
By Josh Sippie
Reports indicate that Kieran Tierne could face two months out injured, but Arsenal should see this as a blessing, not a curse. Swoop, baby, swoop!
So Arsenal have spent all summer dallying over a potential move for Kieran Tierney, and now, all of a sudden, he’s in pain every time he kicks the ball. The injury bug has prematurely claimed him, and now the Gunners are in a conundrum.
Some people are saying move on. Go find another left back that can sort us out. Me? I’m saying this is the best thing that could have happened to us.
For starters, we know that Unai Emery is investing long-term. After all, William Saliba just joined us, but he won’t actually be joining us until next summer. It’s all a matter of laying this foundation of talent that can take us to the next level. It doesn’t have to be today, right this moment, but as long as it’s on its way, it’s all good.
If we can wait a year for Tierney, we can wait two months for Kieran Tierney. Plus, it’s not like Sead Kolasinac is completely helpless at fullback. He’s shaky, sure, but he still has tremendous value and he can keep us covered until the young Scottish leftback gets healthy.

Because, believe it or not, he isn’t going to be hurt forever, in case you didn’t know.
Not just that, but maybe, just maybe, Arsenal can swoop in on Celtic and be like, “Hey, remember that £25m you didn’t want? Well he’s hurt now. So…”
Sure, it may not work that easily. But with the season starting in a matter of weeks, we’d be without this new purchase for approximately six weeks, and even then, he’d have to work himself back up to full fitness, which is not an easy task for someone just arriving in the Premier League with no preseason and shaky legs.
Could be grounds for a bit of a price deduction, if you know what I mean.
Seriously though, don’t bail on this guy just because he’s picked up a knock. He’ll be back, we’ll still need him then, we don’t need to go turn our attention elsewhere. And yeah, it sucks, because Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin are also slow on the return, but it’ll be worth it in the long run.
And so I say, in the most rhythmic way possible—swoop, baby, swoop!
