4. What will Mesut Ozil do?

I grow tired of asking this question. It’s a question I have probably posted in various articles about 50 times throughout the course of his five years at the club, and it’s a question I will probably be asking all season long.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Because it’s a question without answer. You just never know what Mesut Ozil will do. There is a renewed optimism that with how many added weapons he has in this attack, Ozil will settle into himself and dazzle this year.

I’m not convinced. As an eternal optimist, this has me skeptical. I don’t think anything has changed in regard to Ozil, but I am always happy to be proven wrong. I love being proven wrong, actually, especially in this regard.

With the suspected absences, Ozil may have an increased part to play in this match up, which would mean more responsibility, which would also mean more opportunity. If he can do something special in the opener, maybe we can start looking forward to his performances again, rather than dreading them.

Please convince me, Maestro.

No. 3 is next.
