Arsenal still have so many questions and the start of the season is right around the corner. More importantly, tomorrow is Thursday.

Arsenal‘s summer has been a tale of two transfer windows. We might as well not have even been around in June, because nothing was getting done, and even in July, things were slow going until the end. Finally, we’ve started pulling off some deals.

Now, with the window literally closing tomorrow, the Gunners are more engaged in the window than ever before. And for maybe the first time in quite some time, we are headed for an actual transfer madness. The kind that we only ever joked about when Arsene Wenger was in charge (Danny Welbeck, anyone?).

As of writing (early morning on Wednesday), nothing has yet been made official, but I just want to quickly recap all that is being talked about, just to wrap our heads around how much there is yet to track with the window closing tomorrow.

For starters, we are suddenly desperate for a centerback, with massive money bid being made for Dayot Upamecano and a two-year loan attempt for Daniele Rugani.

If that doesn’t work out, going after someone else can’t be ruled out, though teams will be well aware of how desperate the Gunners suddenly are, and with time ticking, they can afford to ask for more money.

Of course, the Gunners are also exploring sending Emile Smith Rowe the other way to RB Leipzig to help incentivize the Upamecano deal.

Meanwhile, Everton Soares has gone completely quiet, so we have to assume that’s dead, but with the lingering rumors of Philippe Coutinho, I wonder if we aren’t in the market for another attacker, especially if Mesut Ozil is set to depart, which is yet another thing to keep an eye on.

Ozil leaving the club at this point would be a massive step in the right direction, but time is ticking.

And then there are cleaning up loose ends. Laurent Koscielny has already been sold, but Carl Jenkinson and Mohammed Elneny are still at the club (again, as of writing) and Eddie Nketiah may be headed for a loan as well. There is so much left to do, and so little time.

Like, literally. The window closes tomorrow. If we can conclusively wrap up all of these storylines in the little time that remains, I will be so blissfully impressed with the men in charge.
