Arsenal: It can’t take much to convince Dani Ceballos otherwise

Dani Ceballos apparently asked specifically not to be sold to Arsenal, which is a shame, but it can’t take much to overcome such a mindset, can it?

Dani Ceballos showcased just how positive of a performer he is going to be this year for Arsenal when he notched two assists against Burnley and displayed his creative genius. He struggled against Liverpool, but snapped back against Spurs in his first ever North London Derby.

And just like that, the disturbing reports emerged that Ceballos told Real Madrid specifically not to sell him to the Gunners, and not to include an option to buy. Which kind of sucks, when you really think about it. But just because a player thinks something once doesn’t mean he has to think it again.

There was a point last year when I said that it couldn’t be that hard to find a capable No. 10 because honestly, who wouldn’t want to play behind a striking duo like Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

Dani Ceballos is include in that. Once he gets settled in, why wouldn’t he want to stay? He just needs time to see how fantastic it can be at the Emirates.

But wait, it gets better. Because Nicolas Pepe has yet to hit his stride, and Pepe is that third wheel this attack has been needing for some time. It builds a front three that rivals the best in the world, and by best, I am of course including Real Madrid.

Ceballos can go back to Madrid and have to work his way into a different attack, or he can stay where he is already building a rapport with an attack equally prolific in a superior competition and make something more of himself.

Seems simple to me.

Of course, the task falls on those three attackers to make it as obvious as I just made it sound. But thankfully, that shouldn’t be a problem, since they’re all so damn good. And you know what they say, damn good players tend to make their teammates better. Meaning Ceballos could find that by the end of the year, he’s much better off staying at a place he has already grown into.

The season is a long thing. Minds change. Friendships form. Attacks blossom and score a crap ton of goals. I’m not going to waste my time worrying about how Ceballos felt before making the move. I’ll worry about how he feels when the season is coming to a close.
