4. The future of the defense

I don’t understand what EA Sports did with the our defense. Rather than do the smart thing and rate our younger players better, erring on the side of slashing our current defense, they did the opposite, giving Sokratis an oddly excessive 84 rating and David Luiz an 83. They even kept Mustafi above Rob Holding and Calum Chambers, despite Holding proving himself last year and Chambers winning player of the season for Fulham.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

It’s atrocious enough that Holding is only a 76, but to leave Chambers at a 75 after such a successful season is baffling. It’s made more baffling when compared to Manchester United’s young defenders.

I’ve already compared Bailly to Holding, but Victor Lindelof is rocking an 81 while Chambers is only 75? Not to mention Bailly has yet to even play a full season and Lindelof has only had one. But Chambers had an entire year (and it wasn’t his first) anchoring a sinking ship like he did at Boro and Holding continuously proves that, despite injuries, he is improving.

Bailly can’t stay healthy either, but I guess he is improving?

It doesn’t make sense, and it’s ridiculous that Holding and Chambers don’t get the credit they have so clearly earned.

No. 3 is next.
