2. The dynamic duo

Okay, here’s something. In their first full year together, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took home the player of the year and the Golden Boot, respectively. They were instrumental, they were unstoppable, they were massive. And even though Lacazette didn’t produce as many goals, his intangibles are what make him spectacular.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

According to EA, these two striker combined only got one point better. One whole point. Auba didn’t improve, but Laca went from 85 to an 86. By contrast, the flop master generals at Tottenham, Kane and Son, are an 89 and 87, respectively.

That’s right, Min is better than Lacazette and Kane is better than Auba. Despite the fact that even if you were to drill this down to stats, Lacazette tops Min across the board both years he’s been here. And in case you didn’t hear, Auba won the Golden Boot.

It’s amazing to me that Son can be such a darling of the modern sports world when, statistically, he can’t even top Lacazette, who we always have to say, “don’t look at his statistics, look at what he does outside of goals.”

Nutty. So, so nutty.

And speaking of nutty, let’s talk more about Harry Winks at No. 1.
