4. Joe Willock

While it is a little difficult to predict what Unai Emery’s starting XI will be, and thereby which players are key to watch, one name that will surely feature for much of the match is 20-year-old Joe Willock.

The central midfielder has made an excellent start to the season, featuring in four Premier League matches thus far, three of them being starts. After a promising pre-season that very much put his name in the first-team thinking, it was hoped that Willock would continue his meteoric rise into the senior side via the cup competitions this season. That starts on Sunday.

Willock has largely been used as a complementary piece to the central midfield thus far. He has produced nice moments, especially when driving from deep with the ball at his feet. But can he now dominate and control a game? Can he dictate play with accurate, sharp passing? Can he be consistent throughout a 90-minute match? These are the next steps he must make as he looks to progress his game.
