Front Three

7.5. MAN OF THE MATCH: Looked the most dangerous player in the first half with some smart dribbles and a couple of shooting opportunities. Then moved into a centre-forward position in the second half and supported Aubameyang very well. Wasn’t magnificent, by no means, but was effective. Oh, and he finally scored, even if it was from the penalty spot.. RW. Arsenal. NICOLAS PEPE

LW. Arsenal. BUKAYO SAKA. 6.0. Struggled to get into the game too much, although I would put that more down to a lack of support from the midfield. Delivered a couple of nice crosses, beat a few defenders here and there, but did not have the opportunity to really cause that many problems. Withdrawn at half-time after Maitland-Niles’ red card.

Arsenal. PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG. 7.5. Superb. His hold-up play was a little off in the first half, which knocks down his rating a little, but worked tirelessly in the second half to hound and harass the Villa backline and then does what he does, scoring a terrific freekick. Showed real character and leadership late in the game also.. ST
