Central Midfield

6.0. His energy, pressing, tackling and reading of the game are superb, and they make him the perfect player to play in the holding role. His passing was quite poor on this occasion, which is why he is rated lower than his teammates, but it is no surprise that Arsenal looked more secure against counter-attack with Torreira, not Granit Xhaka, in the holding role.. CM. Arsenal. LUCAS TORREIRA

8.5. MAN OF THE MATCH: Absolutely dominated the game. Playing slightly deeper than usual, he was the connector between deep and advanced zones. Drove forward when offered the opportunity, passed superbly, always looking to break lines, and showed good energy and willingness to break up play in defensive areas too. Was rewarded with a goal in the second half, yet another sign of his knack for finding space in the penalty area.. CM. Arsenal. JOE WILLOCK

7.0. A very, very tidy performance on the ball. Played passes first-time, which is important when breaking down a deep-lying defence, brought others into play, and was the heart of the Gunners’ attacking play throughout. However, his work ethic was rubbish, again. Just contrast how Ozil worked when the ball was lost to how Martinelli worked. And that is why he should not play in the Premier League.. CM. Arsenal. MESUT OZIL
