5.5. Improved as the game went on, especially in his distribution and positioning, but looked very unsure of himself in the first 20 minutes. Did not do brilliantly for the opener, although he was far from the only culprit, and was turned inside the area easily moments before. Can chalk this one down to rustiness, but this showing should hopefully slow down some hasty expectations from around the fanbase.. CB. Arsenal. ROB HOLDING

6.5. One of Arsenal’s best players, which perhaps tells you more about the rest of the team than it does his own performance. Mustafi did earn a yellow card for a cynical foul, though this time I felt he needed to do it. His passing was at a quicker tempo than usual, he was rarely dragged out of position and did not make the glaring errors of recent seasons. Nice to see.. CB. Arsenal. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI
