Arsenal will likely see small changes to the starting XI against Wolverhampton, but the cast will largely remain the same. Here are the five key guys.

Arsenal have only lost one of their last twelve fixtures, but they also haven’t won a Premier League match since October 6th. So we’ve got a lot going on here to be both grateful and critical of, though naturally the majority will always skew towards the latter.

And rightfully so, after seeing dropped points against Sheffield United away and Crystal Palace at home… points that would have seen us keep our spot in the top four and fortify our position a bit. But no point looking backwards, right?

Moving forward, we have Wolverhampton up next. They started the season awfully, but have found their form from last year and settled into the middle of the table quite nicely. Which just means that yet again, there are plenty of doubts whether the Gunners can get hold of themselves.

After seeing the youngsters score five goals against Liverpool (and surrender five… but that’s not the point), it will be curious to see the difference between that free-flowing, beautiful attack, and what happens against Wolves.

There seems to always be an unfortunate contrast.

Regardless, let’s move into the five key players. We start with No. 5.

5. David Luiz

Someone is going to have to defend, and I would rather trust David Luiz than Sokratis. Though, if given the option, I’d rather trust neither, but that isn’t possible right now. So Luiz it is. At least has a bit of a better track record this season than Sokratis.

Luiz had had matches where he is in complete control and he has had matches where he seems hellbent on ensuring Arsenal losses, so depending on what Luiz shows up against Wolverhampton, we could have two very different defensive results. It’s a home match, which doesn’t even seem to matter anymore, but maybe Luiz can harness the power of this wonderful fan base (no, I’m not sarcastic) and make this a match to be proud of.

I don’t want to talk about the defense though. Let’s move on to No. 4.
