There hasn’t been much to get excited about lately with Arsenal, but hacking through the negativity, here’s something unmistakably positive.

In the past couple of months, Arsenal have buried themselves in negativity and pessimism. Unai Emery is currently facing the firing squad every single match, yet no one really knows if the club have the gumption to fire him. If they do, some fans are so desperate that they want Jose Mourinho. Which is utter bollocks.

Along with Emery’s pressure and the negativity permeating from that, there’s also the fact that he just isn’t doing a very good job lately and I’m not sure he even has a plan anymore.

Then there’s the matter of the captain being booed off the pitch and then stripped of the captaincy. That’s certainly not something to find optimism in.

Mesut Ozil‘s debacle continues, so no joy to be found there. Sokratis and David Luiz are still the duo at centerback. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are probably going to leave.

So that’s no good.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Nicolas Pepe still hasn’t scored a goal from open play, and was wholly benched against Wolves, not even coming on as a sub. Reiss Nelson has sputtered and is now injured, shaking our faith in him.

Also no good.

Dani Ceballos looks promising, but he’s probably ditching at the end of the year and Unai Emery is souring any hopes of Lucas Torreira sticking around for much longer. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is stupid talented, but his future is a murky as beef stew.

No good.

But fret not! Amidst all of the turmoil, all of the questioning and all of the clearcut proof that the club is not moving forward, I give you one thing you can invest full positivity in without any hope of it biting you in the arse. Well, three things really.

Matteo Guendouzi, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

These are three guys that, without a shadow of a doubt, are worthy of your faith and hopes. Guendouzi is the future captain, Martinelli the future Golden Boot winner, and Bukayo Saka a future international super star. All three of these guys are irrefutable. And none are ready to jump ship. Martinelli just arrived with Edu, Saka has come up through the ranks and Guendouzi is one of the few things Emery has continuously handled magnanimously.

There are other studs in the making in Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe, but seeing what I’ve seen and knowing what I know, I only feel 100% confident investing my hopes into Martinelli, Saka and Guendouzi. And that’s something.
