Arsenal vs Brighton predicted XI: Don’t expect anything major
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal and Freddie Ljungberg have another chance to break the winless streak. Here is how they’ll likely line up in order to do so.
The mash of December fixtures are upon us, and with it, absolutely no guarantees that Arsenal are headed in the right direction. That’s no slight on Freddie Ljungberg, who we should have faith in moving forward, it’s a slight on the team in general, as they can’t seem to pull their heads out of their own arses.
With so little time in between fixtures, things get even dicier, because Freddie won’t have time to figure out as much as he would like in training. All of his decision-making is going to have to come from his ability to learn from what happens on the pitch. Which… good luck with that. I don’t know what can be learned from performances on the pitch with how poor it’s been.
Still, the talent is there. We should always have faith in that. All we need is the right mental state and the right strategical approach. That shouldn’t be too hard, should it?
Going into the match, the Gunners have three injuries. Dani Ceballos is still out with injury, which will continue to see our midfield hampered. Elsewhere, Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin are both still questionable, which leaves our defense starved for choices as well.
It’s probably that Holding and Bellerin will be available for selection, as they were on the brink against Norwich, though reports indicate that Bellerin is still fighting to be ready. Which rarely bodes well.
I wouldn’t expect Ljungberg to make any drastic changes, but there should be a few odd changes to help him get the feel he wants, which was lacking against the Canaries. I’m feeling a 4-2-3-1. Let’s get into the personnel.
We start in goal.
Keeper
If there was any threat to Bernd Leno‘s job, which there wasn’t, that threat was thoroughly trounced when he proved himself the hero against Norwich. It’s something he is capable of doing, in case you needed any sort of memory jog. Take care not to forget again.
Moving on to the fullbacks.
