Arsenal: Someone is more annoyed with this club than you
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal fans may think no one could be as frustrated with this club as they are, but let me tell you, there is one player for sure who is more frustrated than you.
As one of the millions of Arsenal fans who have had to suffer through this season, I can see the argument that no one is more aggrieved than us. Especially when you see some of the players out there, loafing, hanging heads, fairly untroubled. Just kicking the ball around and getting spanked in the process.
Clearly the board isn’t that troubled. I don’t mind them making sure they get the right manager, but the complete silence around the matter is something else entirely. And so, they’ve been accused of not caring either.
Let me go ahead and tell you that there is one player who I can guarantee you is just as if not more frustrated with the situation than you are. And that player is Bernd Leno.
Think about the situation he’s in. Despite being a truly top class keeper, capable of making spectacular saves that save us further embarrassment, he still manages to let in two to three goals a match.

It takes one hell of a claim to say that a keeper is in no way responsible for surrendering those two to three goals, but I’ll go ahead and make that claim now—Leno is in no way responsible for that mass of goals bulging the back of his own net.
And that’s a futile place for him to be in as a guy at the top of his game, in his prime years, hoping to establish himself.
Without Leno, that match against Manchester City would have been even worse. Far worse. And this isn’t the first match, nor the last match, that ended up being that way. Leno’s tremendous saves and command of his box change things.
I know that Leno is playing for the shirt, and he isn’t going to make a stink about it. But he’s definitely feeling the frustrations of not being in a place to change his own fortunes. That takes its toll on a player and I only hope we can turn it around before it takes a serious toll.
Because let’s just say that Leno going elsewhere is a stress we are not anywhere near being able to cope with. It’s bad enough having an awful defense, but having to repair a keeper situation would make it even worse.
