Arsenal are coming off another dropped result. So many matches now they’ve had in the bag, only to blow it at the last moment. And in each one, there were moments where things might have gone much differently.

Against Crystal Palace, the VAR-awarded penalty that was then denied to us in a much similar situation against Sheffield United, our most recent dropped result.

Against Chelsea last time out, Jorginho’s second yellow was denied and he was the one that went on to score that crucial goal. All bad luck? Perhaps. We don’t want to blame poor calls fo everything, because we can definitely improve. But it’s hard to ignore the obvious.

Going into Stamford Bridge, we have to be leery of a similar trap. What does an early goal or two mean if you can’t see the result out? It means lost hope.

But enough of that. Arsenal proved they can stand up to Chelsea, we saw that last time out. For 80 minutes, we ruled the day. We played incredibly well. We are going to be better this time, Mikel Arteta has been here longer, and all we really need is some cohesion to this attack without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in it.

That gets tough when you consider that Alexandre Lacazette isn’t in good form. In fact, Mikel Arteta has even openly flirted with starting Eddie Nketiah. Not that I’m opposed, but we’ll talk about that later.

As for the starting XI, we’re be without the obvious—Kieran Tierney, Calum Chambers and Aubameyang. Sead Kolasinac remains a question mark, as he missed last match with a thigh strain, and that was only a few days ago. The question now is if he can be ready for this one. It’d be sure nice if he was.

Anyway, going with the 4-2-3-1 here, as usual. Here’s how Arteta will suit up, starting with the keeper.

Keeper

No reason to change things up here. Bernd Leno is one of the best in the business and he’ll keep his spot.

Defense coming up next.
