Arsenal: Stuff your criticism of the winter transfer window up your
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal had a fantastic winter transfer window, but not everything thinks so. If you’re already complaining about the business, stuff it up your.
I’m trying this new tactic to deal with stupid people commenting on Arsenal‘s business. Since I’m not allowed to cuss, I just leave the word out. Try it sometime. Let’s do it together: “If you are already criticizing Arsenal’s winter transfer business, stuff if up your.”
Wasn’t that fun? Now, let’s talk about people, including one who may or may not be named Charlie Nicholas. Nicholas in his infinite wisdom thinks that the Gunners have had a paltry winter, an embarrassing winter, and says that since we’ve spent so irresponsibly in the past, we are now being punished for those issues.
Which isn’t the case at all. This club did tremendous business this transfer window in using minimal money to solve all of their issues. Which, by the way, none of their issues required major overhauls yet. They needed temporary hold-overs.
For instance, at centerback we nabbed Pablo Mari. Superb. Unknown, sure, but big picture this is superb. We’ve got Calum Chambers and William Saliba on the way and enough veterans to see us through to the summer when we will actually have money to spend.

And the fullback solution, Cedric Soares, is a temporary measure that could turn into something really special. As I keep harping about, this isn’t just about Soares. It’s about what his addition does to free up Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka to return to their preferred positions.
What’s better than that?
As for Soares, the guy is a proven Premier League veteran, as venerable as they come with plenty of years left to give.
So yeah, these aren’t huge names. They aren’t groundbreaking signings. But we don’t know what they’re capable of now do we? We haven’t even seen them play. Who out there was frolicking through fields of mirth when we signed Matteo Guendouzi? Not Charlie Nicholas.
Just shut up and let it play out. If it doesn’t work, if Pablo Mari isn’t good enough, so be it. But we won’t know anything until it’s actually given a chance to succeed or fail. I refuse to believe that Charlie Nicholas or any other — talker knows more about what this club needs than Mikel Arteta and the new regime.
Shut up with your attention-grabby criticisms of what you haven’t even seen used yet. Everyone knows you’re talking out your.
