Arsenal weren’t able to capitalize on a premium opportunity to move up the table against Burnley, but let’s focus on the positives for a second, okay?

Arsenal were, for the most part, the lesser of two teams at Turf Moor, but they managed to come away with a goalless draw, and that’s not the worst thing in the world. Yet if you ask fans, you’d think that we were slapped around to the tune of a 4-0 defeat.

Suddenly the entire team is below average, the only good players are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bernd Leno and no one can understand why it’s so hard to take a team of this caliber and turn it around with very little time.

Spoiler alert—it is tough, and we have to be patient. Sure, we aren’t winning, and sure, we’re dropping points late in matches, but the 0-0 draw to Burnley showed a lot of positives as well, positives that I don’t want to get lost in the shuffle of negativity.

I’m going to do my usual stupid American routine now and be super optimistic about one point. Let’s start with the first positive of the day.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back

This wasn’t a good match for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang because he could not take his chances. But we know that he is better than that. And we know that if given those chances again, he’ll take them. he just needs to get back into the swing of things.

It’s small consolation, but it’s a big deal nonetheless. We’ve had trouble attacking lately and for as much as I’m okay with Aubameyang leaving, I have to admit that it feels good knowing that our sharp-shooter is back in the thick of it.

He had three big chances against Burnley. All he’d have had to do is take one of those chances, but again, on another day, he will. He’s an elite striker that needs to be rotated up front to lead the attack, rather than be a compliment to it.

Any day is a good day when elite players rejoin the club.

Moving on to No. 2.
