2. Reiss Nelson

Coming second is Reiss Nelson. The young Englishman’s right hamstring has sidelined him for a number of weeks, and as he looks to return during the winter break, we need him more than ever.

Yet another manager has found an issue with Nicolas Pepe, and Reiss Nelson solves that issue. He provides competition, and can easily swipe the starting spot from under the Ivorian’s feet. Nelson is our best-suited right-winger, and has already proven he can light a fire under Pepe. He also deserves the opportunity to fight for a starting spot.

He also fits the ideal of the classic winger, combined with the modern one. His chalk-on-your-boots, driving style of play is augmented by his skill in distribution and defensive work rate. And Pepe is not the only player Nelson can get the best out of. When he plays, he frees space for Mesut Ozil to operate. His lack of reliance on cutting inside allows the German more space in the inside-right role. He needs to get back, and soon. On to the all-important number one.
