1. Matteo Guedouzi

There might not be a more talented in the entire Arsenal squad than Matteo Guendouzi. As certain performances have illustrated, he has the complete skill set to be one of the best players in world football. There is almost nothing that he does not have. Athleticism, skill, creativity, technique, size, speed, passion, fight, intelligence.

But while his skill set is outrageous, his use of it is very raw. He suffers from positional ill-discipline, tends to go wandering a little too often, and can sometimes allow his impassioned spirit get the better of him. But if tamed, Guendouzi truly could be one of the elite central midfielders in the Premier League and beyond.

He needs work, however, and that is what Mikel Arteta can use the remaining months of the season to do. The Arsenal head coach is renowned for his work with individual players. His coaching on the training ground is said to be staggering, and he is credited with many of the significant improvements that Manchester City players have made in recent years.

If that is the case, with Arteta’s coaching and Guendouzi’s talent, Arsenal could truly have quite the central midfielder on their hands. And that is very much worth investing in and building upon.
