On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal host Newcastle United following their two-week winter break. Here is the Gunners’ predicted starting XI as Mikel Arteta looks to make a winning return to competitive football.

After an excruciatingly long but much-needed two-week winter break, Arsenal prepare to return to competitive duties on Sunday afternoon when they host an improving and hardened Newcastle United. Mikel Arteta’s team has shown plenty of improvement under the Spaniard, but they have missed that cutting-edge to turn draws into victories. Perhaps a midseason training camp in Dubai can change that.
