Sure, Guendouzi is buried now behind Dani Cabellos, and Granit Xhaka isn’t going anywhere, and Lucas Torreira is the first off the bench. But to think that Guendouzi can’t manage navigating through this crop of midfielders is ridiculous. Guendouzi is so incredibly talented, he is so gifted—he will be back. You can count on that.
If you want any proof, just look at how quickly he rose to the occasion when we first signed him. I mean, he was our best player against Manchester City and Chelsea and this club was in a much different place. We aren’t as desperate now, but that will only serve to bolster Guendouzi’s determination to rise to the occasion again. What’s been done once can certainly be done again.
Talented players always have a way of rising to the top, and Guendouzi is nothing if not talented. This is all part of the process.
