CM. Arsenal. GRANIT XHAKA. 8.0. Great defensive work, particularly away from the ball, filling in the spaces he needed to cover to see out danger before it could arise. He defended all the way back, marked his runners, monitored passing lanes, and looked in his element. An expert on the ball as always. He set up the Bukayo Saka assist on the first goal. Really got involved in the attack, spreading the ball around and moving off the ball like we haven’t in some time. He pressured high well too, especially after Torreira’s introduction, as it allowed Xhaka to flow more freely, and it nearly translated into an Nketiah goal in the 86th.

Arsenal. DANI CEBALLOS. 7.5. Awful passing early on. Every time he looked up to start a counter, he gave it to the wrong team. Continued to look a little rattled, but his involvement skewed more positive. However, his defensive work was tremendous, as he served the role of enforcer throughout. This wasn’t a lights-out performance like Burnley or Newcastle, but it was something to build off, a level of competitiveness that we can he can be proud of and we should be satisfied with.. CM

MESUT OZIL. 7.4. Smothered by <a target=. CAM. Arsenal
