Midfield

The midfield was the one area that did see a small bit of rotation in the first leg, but we really need to complete the rotation and give our main men some time. That puts a lot of variables into the equation, but it’s not like these guys are so far behind the preferred Premier League people that we’d see that much of a drop off.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

At the base, I hope to see Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira. The former is fighting his way back into Arteta’s good graces and the latter is still struggling to settle in after nearly two years at the club. I would love to see a dominant performance from Torreira just to reaffirm some of the optimism and hope we all had when we signed him.

Lastly, Joe Willock should round off the midfield in the No. 10 roll. He is raw talent personified, which can be good or bad, and that can change without warning from one situation to the next. But he’s got the effort and he isn’t afraid to attack the ball, or with the ball, so we always have that.

All in all, it will be Guendouzi who I look to for confidence here. He needs to control the ball, not let the early aggression of the Greeks get to him, and try to keep his cool and establish a tempo. You know, like Granit Xhaka would do.

Lastly, the attack.
