Arsenal: 3 reasons to re-sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
By Josh Sippie
1. He’s part of the culture
Aubameyang has gone through a lot to get to where the club is now. He saw Wenger’s reign in. He saw Unai Emery fizzle. He saw Freddie Ljungberg get quickly overwhelmed. And now, he’s seeing Mikel Arteta thrive. And through it all, he goes about his work with a smile and an energy that is contagious.
So many of these young players are benefitting from having someone like him around. Not just from the point of view of having someone as elite as him to play alongside, but having someone like him, who has won so much and achieved so much, to offer guidance.
Aubameyang loves the club. You better believe that. It would be obvious if he didn’t. Just look at how he left Borussia Dortmund. As long as that remains the case, as long as he loves the club, it’s important not to downplay how important that is. It’s another intangible that you can’t guarantee if you go buy someone new. How do you know that someone will ingratiate into the culture of the club as well as Aubameyang did?
You just can’t know for sure.
Aubameyang loves it here, we love him here, he’s doing incredible things and he’s making everyone around him better. Sounds like a ringing endorsement that he should remain right where he is for just awhile longer.
