Arsenal: 3 reasons to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
By Josh Sippie
1. Value will never be higher
Selling Aubameyang last year wouldn’t have been a good idea. A lot was riding on his ability to replicate the Golden Boot winning year. Unai Emery needed him. He was depending on him.
I don’t think Mikel Arteta need shim as much. Not that he sin’t grateful to have him, just that if you look at what’s happening on this defense, clearly it’s not all about personnel, but moreso about structure and philosophy.
So cashing in on Aubameyang now, when you could feasibly expect something in the region of £70m, could be some of the most ruthless, shrewd business we’ve ever seen at this club. That is, assuming that it all works out.
How far could that money go towards reinvesting in the longevity of this club? And are we really ready to let that slip on by on the hopes that we can get another good year out of him? He is getting older, so that value will only plummet the longer that we keep him.
Not to mention the contract situation.
Yeah, like I said. His value will never be higher than it is right now. So sell, sell, sell.
