1. A win is a win

There is more to a match than just the result. Yes, the result is what dictates the number of points you receive and whether you win or lose, but it is the performance that forecasts what your team will become over an extended sample size. Results can be unpredictable, but over time, teams will revert to the expected outcome of the quality of their performances.

They did not deserve the victory over West Ham and they will have to perform at a higher standard to continue their winning ways in future, but the three points keep them in the hunt for a top-five finish.
