Front Three

6.0. Worked hard defensively, especially when tracking back (he should have closed down the cross for Michail Antonio’s second-half header more effectively). Offensively, he had a few moments to drive at West Ham defenders and invariably beat them, but the end product was lacking once again. Certainly was not the problem here, but still lacks the inspiring impact that you would like from a record signing.. RW. Arsenal. NICOLAS PEPE

LW. Arsenal. PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG. 5.5. A quiet game for Aubameyang. Struggled to get any half-decent service — he had fewer touches than Nicolas Pepe despite playing almost 30 minutes more. When he did receive the ball, West Ham were keen to close him down and limit the space. Linked up with Bukayo Saka well at times, but his overall output was a little muted. As ever, worked tremendously hard without the ball.

EDDIE NKETIAH. 5.0. Made some nice runs here and there and was thwarted by Lukasz Fabianski well in the second half, but his hold-up play was poor. Struggled to physically hold off either West Ham centre-back, but also suffered from several loose first touches, the ball bouncing in the air before a West Ham defender clearing. If he is to play the lone centre-forward role, this must improve. Not Nketiah’s day.. ST. Arsenal
