Arsenal: 3 reasons that Willian is absolutely not necessary

1. Youth!

So what would we rather have, Willian rotating in behind Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, or our two razzle-dazzle youngsters, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli? And I swear if anyone out there answered that you’d rather have Willian, just picture me glaring at you because I am.

Saka and Martinelli are two of our most exciting young players in quite some time. Both of them are already Premier League ready. They are already doing incredible things with the senior side. Saka has the most assists of a teenager, the most assists on the team, and both he and Martinelli are among the top five goal producers on the team.

Willian doesn’t just have nothing on Aubameyang and Pepe, he has nothing on Martinelli and Saka. They are the future of the club. They are ready to carry us into the next era. Willian is a temporary fix that is no longer needed.

Invest faith in our youth, give them new contracts if you have to. But investing in Willian at this point makes no sense.
