While Arsenal‘s defense is jam-packed with personnel, most of which are expendable, the attack is in a much different state. The attack is jam-packed with personnel, most of which do not qualify as expendable.

That said, with the way this season turns out still hanging in the balance, it is highly likely that we see a significant turnover in the attack. Not necessarily because we lose a lot of guys, but because we lose our most important guys.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette both have their futures in doubt, with the need for Champions League football and, for Aubameyang especially, the need for a raise well within the club’s collective consciousness.

With all of that in mind, we have to start considering the guys that we must build around for the future. A future that might not have our dynamic striker duo.

So, without further ado, let’s dig into the three attackers that absolutely cannot be sold under any circumstances. With varying reasons as to the ‘why’ of the matter. We start with No. 3.

3. Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli was the first gift that Edu gave us and a huge argument in favor of Unai Emery, who was also in on the deal. For mere pocket change, we got a teenage sensation that Barcelona is still whining about not getting.

He’s one of our biggest threats to goal, and in a future where we might not have Aubameyang, Martinelli’s versatility in positioning will be a blessing. He pays the same positions Aubameyang did and he may even be a better fit at left-wing since he is a natural winger.

Martinelli isn’t in any immediate danger of being sold, but with Barcelona sniffing from the moment we sign him, it’s imperative that we give him what he wants and get him as much playing time as he deserves. Either that or he’ll start barking for a better opportunity elsewhere.

For now, though, this is a very easy and safe ‘do not sell.’ On to No. 2.
