Arsenal: The only 3 midfielders that can’t be sold this summer
By Josh Sippie
1. Emile Smith Rowe
Surprised to see him at No. 1? Don’t be. Arsenal are about to have a serious void at the creative midfield department. God willing, Mesut Ozil will be sold. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is on his way out. Dani Ceballos is still on a loan, so his future is unclear.
Meanwhile, we have a budding young star in Emile Smith Rowe who is on a crucial loan at Huddersfield that is already showcasing just how much he has grown over the past couple of years.
Smith Rowe is exactly the type of creative midfielder that Arteta would want. He’s got the effort and the work rate and the eye for the final ball. All that rolled into one youngster is just too delectable to part with.
The main reason we can’t sell him, though, is because the return on investment would be paltry. Seeing as how we have yet to see his best, we’d be selling him for chump change. Given what he could become, that is an absolute no-no. Next year is the year for Smith Rowe. It could be the year he inherits the Mesut Ozil role.
