Arsenal: 3 reasons not to bring Santi Cazorla back
By Josh Sippie
2. …no reasons…
It’s remarkable, the transformation that Santi Cazorla took at Arsenal, he went from a straight creative midfielder to a deep-lying midfielder and through it all, he kept smiling and he kept performing in every way asked of him.

From his 12 goals and 11 assist debut season, Cazorla continued to shine throughout his time at Arsenal. His stats alone show the kind of midfielder we just don’t have anymore. If we had a guy who produced as little as seven goals, I’d be over the moon. But we don’t. The Spaniard was constantly in double digits.
The only time he fell off was when his injury struck. In his last two years at the club, he managed a combined 1000 minutes of Premier League action and could only scrape together four goals and three assists in that time. Which, given the amount of minutes played, isn’t even that bad of a return.
But it royally sucks that we couldn’t get the best of him there at the end because I have no doubts that he would still be at the club if only he could have stayed healthy.
On to the No. 1 reason not to bring him back.
