Arsenal: 3 reasons not to bring Santi Cazorla back
By Josh Sippie
1. …not to bring Santi Cazorla back
Sometimes, it’s best to have an “out of sight, out of mind” policy in situations like these. We all loved Cazorla, but once he left, seeing him succeed elsewhere was just going to hurt as we wondered what he could be doing if he was still at the Emirates.
Incredibly, after returning from that horror injury, Cazorla looked like he hadn’t even lost a step. He put together 2600 minutes in his first year at Villareal, accumulating Arsenal-like stats of four goals and ten assists. He followed that up with this year. In 1800 minutes, he’s already got eight goals and six assists.
That would make him our second most effective goal producer. And I don’t have to say anything about those goals translating to the Premier League, because they already did. Wherever Cazorla plays, he can be counted on for between 10-20 goals.
So should we take Cazorla on a free at the age of 35? Hell yeah we should. And thank you for bearing with me as I put together this semi-annoying slideshow just to reaffirm what we already knew—that there is no reason not to bring Santi Cazorla back to the club.
