Positive 2: The form under Mikel Arteta

Whatever your opinion was when Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta back in December, you cannot deny that he has improved the team and results since he took over. As it stands, the Gunners have only lost once since he took over in the league and twice in all competitions.

Some of the performances have not been ideal, of course, and the defeat to Olympiakos in the Europa League was disastrous for the club’s hope of Champions League qualification, but Arteta has instilled a winning attitude and desire within the squad that has previously been missing. At present, Arsenal are on a three-game winning run and were starting to build a little bit of confidence.

All this is to say that there is hope that Arteta can continue to build the team in a positive, progressive manner. He is only at the start of the rebuilding process, but the initial signs suggest that it will be an extremely helpful one. If the board do decide to back him in the summer, Arteta can bring this team back to the top four and beyond.
