Arsenal: 5 reasons Granit Xhaka is still the future

2. Mikel Arteta likes him
If you trust Mikel Arteta, you also have to trust his opinion, right? Mikel Arteta went so far out of his way to ensure that Granit Xhaka stayed. He must have promised Xhaka something incredible because Xhaka’s own agent admitted that a move to Hoffenheim was agreed upon. Yet one conversation with Arteta later and Xhaka is as irreplaceable as he’s always been.

Arteta knows how to build a functional midfield. He was a midfielder himself, he comes from the school of Pep Guardiola, he gets it. He thinks that Xhaka is the best thing for this club to move forward with.
Not just that, but Arsene Wenger thought so too. He spent a lot of money on Xhaka, he kept the faith through the acclimation process and guess why? Because he knew. Xhaka has gone through four managers at Arsenal and each and every one of them has kept the faith in Xhaka. So unless you’re the most disgruntled fan who hasn’t trusted any of the past four managers, then you’ve at least believed in one of them, and they’ve all agreed on Xhaka.
Plus, I think these guys would know. They’re the ones trusted to build the team and at least two of them have enough credibility to be fully trusted.
