Manchester City

The only player who is superior than Virgil van Dijk, irrespective of position, in the Premier League is Kevin de Bruyne. Again, like with the Liverpool selection, de Bruyne would never come to Arsenal and Manchester City would never sell, but if I could dreamily select any City player to make the north London switch, it is impossible to look past the Belgian.

His quality of play is reason enough. Just this season, he has eight goals and 16 assists — he is on pace to break Thierry Henry’s assist record. No player has created more clear-cut chances in a top-five European league. Only Andy Robertson has more final-third passes. No player has created more chances or chances at a better rate (he is miles clear in both categories).

De Bruyne is also the modern version of Mesut Ozil. He is equally as creative but provides the industry, athleticism and defensive influence that the German never could. He is the best player in the Premier League and Arsenal would be lucky to have him.
