Bournemouth

Philip Billing might be the best player that a lot of people only know by vague recollection. But from his time at Huddersfield Town as a rangy, striding central midfield who could burst past defenders, destroy would-be attacks, and rake long-range passes across the pitch, the 23-year-old has displayed his all-around midfield talents.

Now at Bournemouth, Billing is again proving to be one of the brightest young defensive midfielders in the Premier League. He averages 2.8 tackles per 90 minutes, 2.4 interceptions per 90, and 2.2 blocks per 90, all of which rank in the top-five of the squad, irrespective of position.

Billing is also a capable passer. He can spray long balls forward and uses his frame well to protect the ball when being pressed. Is he an elite defensive midfielder? No, of course not. But he has all the tools to be a very capable one, and there is still room for growth.
