In the summer, Arsenal chose to sign Nicolas Pepe, not Wilfried Zaha. Based on his basic numbers from this season, that seems like a sensible decision. Even though Pepe has disappointed, Zaha has only three goals and three assists on the year, which is not exactly what you want from an £80 million winger.

That said, the underlying statistics are more encouraging. He creates a chance per game, averages 1.5 shots per game, and completes around a third of his cross attempts, which is among the highest in the Palace squad and proves that his end product is improving. He is also still a brilliant dribbler.

Of players who have played more than 1000 Premier League minutes, only Allan Saint-Maximin and Adama Traore average more dribbles per 90 minutes. Zaha completes 4.7 dribbles per 90 minutes, which is a sensational number. Only Jack Grealish has been fouled more, yet more proof of his agility and skill, and he is almost unstoppable in a one-on-one situation. Is he worth £80 million? No. But would he be exhilarating and potentially undefinable opposite Pepe? Absolutely.
