Striker—Best

Odsonne Edouard was only just recently added to the transfer spectrum because Arsenal only recently started to look at strikers. A few names have popped up in the past, like Luka Jovic, but nothing has stuck.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

No matter what I’ve said about the other positions, my policy at striker is different. I don’t think we need to try to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with another 30-year-old striker. That’s too expensive and it’s not practical at this point. We already have a lot of pieces in place for this attack to grow, right now I’m more interested in putting a piece in at striker that has proven potential readiness with more of a focus on the future.

That’s Edouard, who’s goal numbers have ballooned over the past three years. He’s just getting better and better.

With Eddie Nketiah in a place where he should expect a more concrete role with the first team, it doesn’t make sense to go dumping money on a position that should be just fine with a clever addition like Eduoard.

Which probably spoils what’s coming up with the worst of the striker options.
