Striker—Worst

Since the transfer rumors around strikers have been fairly subdued, it’s not like I can go point to a name and say “not this guy!” There is no Chris Smalling of strikers at the moment and hopefully, there never will be.

That said, there are a few names that have passed by that made me shake my head. And they have one thing in common—30+ years old, have already passed their prime, would be an attempt to directly replace Aubameyang.

Guys like Dries Mertens and Antoine Griezmann. I have zero interest in signing one of them because they would be far too expensive when we could reroute that money to perfecting the midfield and solidifying the defense.

Trust in Nketiah and one smart addition to solve the striker situation. We don’t need another superstar purchase just because we happen to be selling Aubameyang. Oh, and by the way, we haven’t even committed to selling Aubameyang yet.
