Arsenal is looking forward to a massive transformation this summer, so here are three guys starting now that won’t be starting next year.

With the Arsenal season on pause, it’s easy to get introspective and start looking forward to what comes next. Of course, about this time, the summer would normally be getting really close, so it’s only natural to think about how we might look come next year.

There are certain things to look forward to, both with new additions and exits. The two are equally exciting, honestly, with too much dead weight having built up over the years. Which leaves a lot of work to be done on the club’s part.

Suffice to say, the team we’re seeing now isn’t going to be the team we see at the start of next year, even with the current personnel on the team shaping up so nicely. We can still expect a pretty high turnover, particularly to the starting XI.

With that in mind, here are three guys in particular who are starting every day now who probably won’t be starting by the start of next year.

We start with No. 3.

3. Alexandre Lacazette

Honestly, I don’t think Mikel Arteta is the most impressed with Alexandre Lacazette. That shouldn’t come as any surprise though. Eddie Nketiah has been starting instead of Lacazette and it’s not exactly been going poorly.

In fact, Lacazette coming off the bench has actually been a prettier sight than him starting lately. His numbers are way down this year and rumors are picking up of an exit. But even if he does stay, I can’t imagine him getting the starting nod anymore. He’s had chances and his inconsistency has really shown through. It’s time to see what someone else can do. And right now, that someone is Eddie Nketiah.

We’ll see who it is tomorrow.
