1. Mesut Ozil

I have never been more confident in anything I’ve said while in charge of this website than what I am about to say now: If Mesut Ozil is starting for Arsenal Football Club next season, then we have erred greatly. Greatly.

Say what you will about Unai Emery, but he tried to do something about the Mesut Ozil problem. He tried to find a solution. He benched Ozil, he played hardball with him, but he also gave him opportunities to prove himself. Ozil did not take those opportunities. So he kept getting benched. Call it “freezing out” if you want, but that’s simply not what it was. Freezing out is benching a guy for good, just to get him to leave the club.

That isn’t what Emery did with Ozil.

Unfortunately, Mikel Arteta gave Ozil free reign on the No. 10 role and, sure enough, it hasn’t worked out. Arteta is a smart man, he has to see that. So for the love of everything, end this. Ozil cannot be starting at this club any longer.
