Full-Backs

Another position hit by injuries across the two years, Arsenal have never had consistent play from any full-back. In fact, they have rarely had any fit full-backs period, nevermind players performing at a high level. However, across the two years, I have selected the two players who have played the most games, Hector Bellerin on the right and Sead Kolasinac on the left.

Bellerin was excellent for the first half of the 2018/19 season. Because he missed time with injury before then returning and tearing his ACL in January, it is often forgotten, but the Spaniard finally looked back to his electric best under Emery. He has missed a lot of time, but the only other option is Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who obviously does not want to play there.

On the opposite side, Monreal never looked comfortable at left-back, Kieran Tierney has not played enough to qualify, while Bukayo Saka has flourished but is not a natural left-back. Kolasinac, meanwhile, has been quietly effective. Five Premier League assists last season, another two this year, he has been a plus performer, even with his defensive vulnerabilities.
