Arsenal: 3 reasons Luka Jovic should top Aubameyang replacement list

Strength on the ball
This is so important, as we have learned over the years. If you can’t hold onto the ball in La Liga, or in Serie A, or whoever the hell you happen to play, you will not be able to hang onto the ball in the Premier League. You will get pushed around and the ball will be taken off your foot more times than you can count on one hand and you’ll fall into the pits of a confidence drought and things will be really bad.
That’s the one downfall to Odsonne Edouard. He’s rather loose with the ball. In the Europa League alone he’s losing the ball 7.5 times per match, the majority of which come from poor touches.
That kind of thing does not fly in England and is a major risk factor to include in any decision-making process.
Jovic, on the other hand, is sturdy in possession and, for the most part, he always has been. His touches are more composed, he doesn’t get dispossessed, he understands the importance of retaining the ball. In this way, he’s similar to Lacazette, who has a remarkable strength and resilience on the ball, despite his struggles with confidence.
This is something that will translate well in the Premier League, and the primary reason why he might be preferred over Edouard.
