For FC Koln, that means Ellyes Skhiri, the 24-year-old Tunisian who’s tremendous defensive numbers speak for themselves.
With a physique to stand up against the elevated Premier League level, Skhiri completes nearly five defensive actions per game, which is well beyond what any Gunner midfielder is currently achieving. But Skhiri also has the pivot gene and has three assists and a healthy possession retention metric to show for it.
Going even further, he is an aerial threat, which isn’t something you can say about any other midfielder we currently have, bar Granit Xhaka.
