Wolfsburg

I’ll admit that not everyone on this list I’m excited to have at Arsenal. Some of them I just crammed in here because of this pledge to find one player from each team. That doesn’t mean that there is one player on each team that I would be jumping for joy to sign, but same as Werder Bremen have Milot Rashica, Wolfsburg has someone I’d be tickled to sign to—Maximilian Arnold.

Arnold is a bona fide central midfielder who has an eye for goal production. With four goals and eight assists this year, he is having one of his best years to date and he’s been with Wolfsburg for awhile. But even with it being one of his best years, he’s never had a season where he didn’t produce at least a handful of goals, and that familiar logic of “put him among better players and he will get better” sparks up again.

Arnold knows how to anchor the center of the midfield, on or off the ball, he’s a prototypical pivot who can sink deep to help with defense and push forward with an eye on sparking a run at goal.

Most of all, despite all of that, he is secure on the ball. He doesn’t make rash decisions very often and he’s nearing the point in his career that you’d expect him to blossom into his prime.

Next. One Dream Target From Each Premier League Club. dark

I’d almost feel bad separating him from his lifelong club, but in the name of finally solving Arsenal’s midfield issues, I think I’d get over it pretty fast.
